Happy
Valentine's Day and reminiscing of my '05 Birthday
Today on Valentine's Day I decided to reminisce about last year's birthday
gift I got from Kami. It was an interesting time in our lives. We just
came off a very emotional and dramatic AVN convention
as well as some lean times with work. But Kami came to Los Angeles for
my birthday. Even though money wise she was strapped she managed to buy
me some amazing gifts. It's weird, we are both such die hard fans we wind
up buying each other football stuff all the time.
Last Christmas she got me a Marvin Harrison jersey which I cherish and
actually brought with me to last year's convention. This Christmas she
hooked a brotha up with a Polamalu jersey and bunch of other Steeler gear.
For my birthday last year she arrived with a Steve Young USFL LA Express
jersey. Damn any girlfriend who buys her boyfriend a USFL
jersey is beyond a keeper. She also got us two tickets to the LA Avengers
Arena Football League game. Great seats 5 rows from the field.
I remember that night as if it was yesterday. I was very sick but so thrilled
for the night at hand. we first went to a glass toy store opening where
her friend Flower Tucci was signing. The cool thing was as we entered
the store and Kami ran off with Flower, a guy approached me from the street.
He spotted us driving and recognized Kami. That was impressive of him
to spot her like that. She took some pics. with him and other fans then
we headed for the game.
The game was awesome as the Avengers spanked Tampa Bay Storm with a underlining
story-line. Two players on LA played last year for Tampa Bay and were
given fake gold Championship rings by the Storm's coach/general manager.
The whole week leading up to it was dramatic with plenty of shit talking.
The two players got their revenge and eventually the proper rings, while
this coach was reprimanded by the league.
Avengers
59, Storm 28
Between
plays or possessions the big screen does this kiss-cam thing and guess
who was thrown into the limelight in front of 17,000 strong. That's right,
we had to show them all how the Kiss-Cam works and made-out in front of
all the women and children plus all those jealous dudes. After the game
I bought Kami
a football
and she had most of the team sign it for her. It was a great gift and
a great night.
A great memory for sure. Happy Valentines to everyone, especially to my
girly Kami. :)
