Back for more with Sex, Drugs, and Rock ‘N’ Roll
October 6, 2003

After a short hiatus from my keyboard I am finally back with a lengthy yet interesting look back at my last few weeks.  I last left off with a look back at my short career as a set P.A, exploring the deep dwellings of porn sets I have encountered.  Right after my last article, I was given a schedule of things to come.  Guy Capo’s, Sex, Drugs, and Rock ’N’ Roll was on tap.  I have never officially worked with Mr. Capo only running into him at the studio.  The man is a tall Mafioso-looking type.  Is he?  I try not to think or worry about that.  All I know is he is a very talented filmmaker with his American Gunk being a critical success.  Before the week of the shoot arrived, I spent a few days "researching" his first film. Two weeks later to this day, it still occupies the tray of my player.  This movie is not just a porn flick, but an example of the ingenious work done by a truly creative mind.  The social commentary with factual examples gives feeling this was not simply thrown together with just a simple horny thought.  Guy Capo gives the audience credit as he provides us a rollercoaster ride of emotions.  I laughed, I cried, I gheered ... then almost gagged!  Man those deep throat moments rode my emotions to the breaking point, a breaking point of food versus stomach lining then finally my floor.  Actually that never happened ... it would have if the batteries in my DVD player remote were dead.  Yes, there are still some things this new P.A. hasn’t gotten used to.  After watching American Gunk I was more anxious then for any other shoot in recent memory.  It also didn’t hurt when the female cast was finally announced.

The first review (for American Gunk) came out days before we began shooting, Sex, Drugs, and Rock ’N’ Roll (SDRNR).  A few actresses were actually asking to be in the film after hearing and seeing Guy’s first venture.  Who wouldn’t want to jump on a and ride the wagon forward towards the promise land.  I knew for me it would be great to see Guy do his stuff for an entire shoot ... see the science behind the madness.  The first day of shooting took place in a huge loft in downtown Los Angeles.  Talk about a perfect setting for a perfect scene.  This place was spacious with plenty of areas to shoot the nasty.  I can imagine if the hoods from outside saw the interior of this warehouse, they would be licking their chops.  This book’s exterior was a perfect camouflage what was on the inside and what followed that day.  Guy had a buddy that wound up helping for the entire shoot.  On this day and the rest to follow he made things happen with his timely assistance and overall great attitude.  I can not even imagine not having him around on certain days.  He was the third in the three team rotation required to shoot the necessity to makes this film ... porn.

Upon cast’s arrival we shot all the necessary dialogue to piece together this puzzle.  Then came the sex.  One of the actresses I have seen in the past. Selena Silver was going to be a re-occurring "groupie", which meant the crew and especially the viewing audience were going to be treated to some high flying, ass kicking sex.  Interesting part about Selena is her personality and overall intelligence.  I am not saying the people we work with are not bright, but with her ... her dictionary comes with a thesaurus and a set of encyclopedias.  If you get my drift.

We also had Felicia Fox for this day.  Yes, the same Felicia Fox from the solo scene in American Gunk.  Talk about a double dip for the crew.  It was like watching a double-header on a Saturday afternoon between the Yankees and the Red Sox, for one ticket price.  Or in my case getting paid for it!  And getting up, close, and personal with the all important C-Light.  Gosh, I often talk about my favorites; as it seems it changes from shoot to article.  So all I can say is the next few days better bring in new list toppers cause the list has changed again.

The day ran late but who can complain.  Today’s events were a site for sore eyes.  The shooting schedule has been sporadic but this is a great way to jump back in it.  I can only imagine what the next three days will bring this cast and crew as we attempt to put SDNRN in the can.
