| PITTSBURGH
TRIP 2005
Part #1
(the
flight & day #1) |
I am back,
back to the grime and slime of Los Angeles. Before leaving for Pittsburgh
there was so many stressful events I thought I would never get a chance
to overcome. My mom's health issues were horrible and then on the day
of my departure we had a rain, which caused a huge leak in my ceiling.
The worse part about it is we had the roof replaced two weeks ago. The
problem came when Unit #3 ordered Direct TV service and they installed
the dish on my side of the roof, in the process ripping a hole in it and
creating the damage. I spent over 3 hours that
morning arguing with the Direct TV and the neighbors. They installed on
my roof without my approval and now huge rains were coming while I would
be out of town. Luckily my folks took care of the situation while I was
gone and all is good now.
My flight was at midnight with an 90 minute layover in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Knowing that Kami is a huge Steeler fan, I wore my Mean Joe Greene jersey
for the trip. New jersey to surprise my girly. Well the Cincy fans at
the airport were eyeing my fine ass or the jersey, most likely the jersey.
Funny thing is I am a huge Cincinnati Bengal fan (I did mean fan not man),
longer then my beloved Colts. So I made my way to the Sports store that
carried ONLY Bengal's gear. The lady in the store ribbed me about it,
it would have been a great picture of me in Steeler jersey amidst the
see of Orange Bengal stuff. The flight to Cincy sucked and was very crowded
but the next one was very cozy and empty. The Pittsburgh airport is beautiful
and huge. You have to take a monorail to get to your bags. Kami was waiting
for me at the baggage claim and even carried my stuff. I have never driven
with Kami as the driver. She drives fast and sometimes has a few things
to say to her fellow drivers. It's awesome. Here is what I love about
her, as she pushes on the breaks and we come to a sudden stop; she uses
her none driving hand to stop me from going forward ... protecting me
from hitting the dash. That was so cute and nice. My baby worries about
me.
After the flight we went to her house and she gave me the tour. Her house
kicks ass. She has it put together very nicely. It just keeps going with
more rooms and a giant basement. I unpacked, we cuddled and then ordered
food. I
got this huge sandwich, 16 inches in all. Everything is bigger in Pittsburgh
especially with me there. :o We spent the rest of the time playing with
the neighbor's dog, having a snowball fight, and watching movies. There
wasn't much snow but my trip wasn't about that.
I did get
loads of gifts. My girlfriend decided to Steeler me up. She got me cool
black and white Troy Polamalu jersey and a Steeler cold weather package
of gloves, scarf, and beanie. I also got two DVD sets each having over
13 hours of wholesome-gory fun: Giant Monsters and Horrolicious. Kami
also got me some football cards and an all sports 2006 Calendar which
is now up in my kitchen. PLUS she got Penguins tickets, WWE Raw tickets,
and was splurging on a trip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Now that
is a hell of a Christmas basket, especially for this Jew. Oh yeah, I also
got a set of Meat Stickers. My guest bathroom walls are covered in stickers,
which were mostly provided by Kami. So now anyone who uses this bathroom
will have to stare at Raw meat while they teenckle.
For Kami
I got her a potpourri of football stuff. I got her signed and framed pictures
of John Elway and Bret Favre but only Favre was delivered. :( I also got
her a two pack of SuperBowl figures (Elway vs. Favre) and Favre action
figure, buddy jesus, gonorrhea, a t-shirt, and a drawing of Terry Bradshaw
I did back in the 1980's. About the gonorrhea, I figured I might as well
get it for her now to start of the new year. Well the gonorrhea is not
exactly what one might think, it's a stuffed microbes toy in a shape of
gonorrhea. Kami has a pic. of it up on her site.
I was so
releaved and happy to finally be there to see all Kami and Pittsburg have
to offer. Plus I saw the coolest thing in Kami's bedroom. She had a picture
of me next the one dice from the set we won in Vegas. I have mine next
to where I sleep as well. That was an unexpected but an awesome surprise.
